Pros

The salary and benefits package were pretty decent. Taking vacation days and other time off when needed was never a problem.

Cons

I have heard great things about JCI from other employees. I would say it all depends on what sector of the company you're working for. In my case, the experience was vastly negative due to the client we worked for under a long term service contract. But on the other hand, SHAME on JCI for letting the client dictate what they do with their own employees and creating an unpleasant work environment. I came to the company as a young engineer (BS. Engineering.) I had ambitions to "move up the ladder" and grow with them. Unfortunately, this is what I got instead: -Horrible management. A complete lack of leadership. -Unreliable resources (cheap, defective cell phones, broken lap tops, etc). -Expects you to drive your personal vehicle into the ground and all over the entire State. Managers who drive 15 minutes back and forth to work each day are given a company vehicle. -Unreasonable work load. Severe under staffing of the account lead to endless problems. -Did not provide proper safety training or PPE. -"Getting the job done" was often placed first over personal safety to please the client. -No real opportunity for advancement. -Very little formal training given. -Asked to perform janitorial type work for the client (NEVER part of my original job description.) -On call hours are unreasonable. There was never a set rotation for being "on call" and I ended up wasting many weekends over it. I also had to fight them to pay me for stand by time, even though it is required by law to do so. -Never a clear scope of work. Things were constantly "changing" with the client. -Lack of stability. The single biggest problem: Getting the client to approve funding for things that are in desperate need of repair/replacement. They cut funding to the point where the facility(s) barely could operate, but it ends up costing them more money in the long run.

Pros

I had to do alot of reflection inorder to find anyting that I would classify as a pro to working at Johnson controls. The only aspects of the job that wer epositive was a good benefit package and 3 weeks vacation.

Cons

I worked for johnson Controls for under two years. I would never recommend this company to anyone seeking employment regardless of how badly they needed a job. In my experience there is absolutely no regard for respectable and fai treatment of employees. The culture is completely preoccupied with assigning blame and accountibility of mistakes with little emphasis on how to move forward towards productive processes and effectiveness. The Canadian division and head office in Milwaukee are world's apart.

Pros

The company is a great one to work for. The company seems to be doing great things and cares about it's employees.

Cons

My experiences were in a branch and it wasn't always the ideal place to work.
