Pros

Talented colleagues who care about the work.

Cons

I joined Indeed optimistic about contributing to a company whose mission is to help people get jobs. Unfortunately, the experience inside didn’t reflect that mission. The biggest challenges came from constant reorganizations and poor leadership alignment. Teams were often left to navigate unclear priorities, shifting expectations, and frequent changes in direction. As an employee, it felt like the real work was not about impact but about meeting a manager’s personal expectations — even when those expectations didn’t connect to strategy or outcomes. There is a culture of reaction over planning. Processes are set up after the fact, not to help people succeed. Performance “improvement” tools felt less like support and more like documentation for exit. Even when accomplishments were delivered, they weren’t acknowledged in favor of moving the goalposts. To be fair, there are many talented and dedicated individuals at Indeed who care deeply about the work. The issue is structural: without clear ownership, consistent strategy, or leadership accountability, it becomes very difficult to do meaningful work or grow in your role.

It Used to be Great

Pros

Indeed was a great place to work but has lost its way completely. The focus used to be on Helping People Get Jobs and being among the best companies to work for.

Cons

It is now about an AI takeover, massive layoffs and appeasing shareholders. Fun while it lasted.

Disappointing

Pros

Unlimited PTO(however some managers/directors make it very difficult for you to take time off). Most people stay for the bonus potential and because they like their team mates.

Cons

Base comp is below industry average. Unstable, four rounds of mass layoffs in 3 years. Leadership is no longer concerned with moral. Even when asked on moral in Global Q&As, no one in SLT wants to answer the declining moral question…. Awkward silence. Then when someone got picked to answer they answered with no plans to address this concern.
