Pros

Their central motto is "We help people get jobs." Every big meeting opens with that. It's very heart-warming and motivational. Almost everyone who wants can work remotely. If you do go into the office, there are free meals and snacks. In theory, there's unlimited PTO.

Cons

They did a huge lay off in March 2023. Then another in May 2024. Over that year, the company has become a miserable place to work. They've switched to a very top-down bureaucracy where clueless directors dictate product direction with no justification. Then they scramble the org structure so all the priorities change every few months. And they decide how ratings will be decided at the end of the quarter (or maybe every 6 months...that also keeps changing).

Pros

Better pay than smaller companies. Free lunch in some offices. Fully remote is still an option for tech roles. Decent benefits compared to non-tech firms. MacBook Pros are standard.

Cons

Really an HR company more than a "tech company." Lots of custom solutions and that are behind the times. To a fault, Indeed believes in A/B testing everything vs. building with a broader product vision. They are "data obsessed" so much that they can't see the forest for the trees and spend so much time making sure data is 100% accurate that they don't build anything meaningful. Most product teams own a very small slice of the experience and have limited impact or autonomy. Leadership seems clueless and aren't held accountable for major misses. They eliminated YOUDays. Performance review process changes almost quarterly. Seems like they are trying to layoff people through firing via forced curve and a more arbitrary review process instead of laying people off and paying severance.
