Pros

Worked in software/firmware development in Rochester/MN for about three and half years as a vendor. Lot of freedom in getting the job done, not much monitoring. Everybody's potential seems to have been well utilized. Co-workers were really very helpful in getting up to speed during the first six months - 1 year. Very little office politics, and negative coworkers. Fast paced environment but project was well planned/organized, little chaos. Helps a lot in work/life balance by allowing to work from home, flexible working hours etc.

Cons

For vendors there are some non job related problems since it is very difficult to convert to full time employee due to some legal restrictions ...

Pros

There are very bright people and the work is challenging. Good benefits. Opportunity to completely change career directions (e.g go from technical to sales). Management is taken very seriously. You can learn a lot and there are some very good personnel practices. Responsibility is given to people throughout the organization. The company cares about its customers and is succesful on the whole. You do get exposed to global cultures and there is commitment to diversity

Cons

Work life balance is weighted too much to work especially since we are a global economy and deal with other geos that are in different time zones. There is too much beauracracy. There are challenges to move beyond a certain level unless you are located in a lab. Too many meetings.

Pros

Nationally recognized advancement job security I feel that the most important contributions I would like to see are related to building both the product and the company through direct contributions to vision, strategy, and design. As it grow, the role of our CEO will increasingly be to hire and grow the right team - to lead and help the company scale - to thousands of people and tens of millions of users of.

Cons

too big hard to advance You can also expect to read a new feature each day, written by several and staff members who will be on
