I've never worked in such a toxic office environment. Management is completely inept at creating a smooth and efficient workflow and was unwilling to hear suggestions on ways to improve this. I tried on multiple occasions to voice my concerns with how the department was managed and it fell on deaf ears. Other team members had agreed with the issues, but were either too afraid to come forward for fear of retaliation or already knew things would never change.
Internal deadlines are completely ignored and not enforced which created chaos and disorganization between departments. You're constantly assured "this never happens", when in fact it occurred on every project and finger pointing and blame was used to explain mistakes or rushed work.
Work/life balance was non-existent because the team took on any and everything in such a disorganized way. You would be placed on something with an impossibly short deadline, which resulted in unnecessary overtime on every project. Some would stay well into the night to complete a project that could have been finished earlier with better planning and department management.
Career advancement and professional growth was not supported and often discouraged.
When presenting these issues to HR they completely ignored the problem and Management continued to run the department into the ground. The turnover rate is shockingly high and it's not "just the industry, you either sink or swim". Good employees stay with good leadership and a well run department keeps talented people.
