Pros

* Leadership cares about employee well-being and success * Technical challenges are interesting, lots of scale and hard problems with distributed systems * You own your success as an engineer * Modern tech stack and platform

Cons

* There are a lot of dogs in the office * Some people seem more interested in the perks and work/life balance than building something remarkable

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us, and for being a tech lead at HubSpot--it's such a valuable role, and I love the transparency and autonomy that have defined engineering even as we have grown, it's remarkable. I love the push to be excellent and have tough conversations, and I think you're spot on that we need to balance strategic investments that are remarkable with meaningful spend on the culture side of things versus overly focusing on perks, so welcome your feedback as we roll out some posts coming up on that topic and related ones--keep us honestly on how we can do better there. Thanks for your input and for all the hard work you do on behalf of our customers. -Katie

Grow and help others Grow

Pros

Really great environment to learn and grow - and to help others do the same. The commitment to the purpose of helping customers grow is palpable. It finds it's way into every conversation and every decision across all functions and levels within the company. The obvious reason to be committed to this purpose is because it means we at HubSpot will grow too, but it's deeper than that. There is a strong belief that we are changing the way the world chooses to engage in commerce...and the "we" driving this change is an awesome group of talented, quirky, driven, and giving game-changers.

Cons

Having lived in many other company cultures, it's hard to find a con. Other reviews talk about the pace of change, the high levels of accountability, the expectation that you'll simply need to get great work done fast - these are all challenges certainly, but if that's what you are looking for, you'll find it.

I love the "we" driving the change line and the advice to "continue to challenge us"--it's people with attitudes like yours that are going to help us get to the next level as a business. I'm deeply grateful for your service to our company and our customers, and for your thoughtful review on being part of our sales team, so thank you! Sincerely, Katie

Pros

Culture: Everything I read about the HubSpot culture code was accurate. The company does a great job of hiring incredible people and creating an environment where they can thrive. As a new employee I had the opportunity to actively add to the culture here. Growth: There is many paths you can take through out the company, and management actively supports you growth. The resources provided allow us to grow with in our role but also earn valuable education/skills that can be transferred anywhere. I started with almost no technical skill but have found a passion for it here and I continue to make progress.

Cons

none so far. But a West Coast office would be great!
