Pros

Flexible hours and interesting work. Honewell Aersospace makes electronics for commercial aircraft that helps to save lives. Makes you feel like your work has meaning.

Cons

Honeywell is very focused on outsourcing work. Job security is an issue.

Pros

100% employee match up to 8% of salary after one year of service for the 401. Generous benifit package. Excellent products.

Cons

Promotions tend to be on the "good ole boy" buddy system. Medical Insurance Premiums are astronomical. Too much time is wasted on the flavor of the month program such as 6 sigma, just in time inventory, greenbelt training, group meetings and writing our own performance reviews instead of doing our actual job and innovating.

Pros

A huge company with incredible potential for development and improvement… Honeywell is involved in a multitude of businesses from High Tech Gadgets to New innovative Textiles.. With the vision to create, who would not aspire to be even more creative than ever imagined in such a company, It has to be one of the most well positioned companies on the world stage with regards to manufacturing development in all fields. Working for such a giant gives you a sense of pride.. (Or does it?) The best reason to work for (UOP) Honeywell Specialty Materials I would say with out a doubt would be, if you are ambitious and have just left university, Honeywell will gladly train and shape you… (In their image)

Cons

In trying to be world leaders in every field possible, they have left behind the true essence of the business.. “The Well of growth and prosperity.” The little man is very much ignored…A well known and well respected organisation.. Honeywell seem intent on success, what ever the cost to it’s employees, By employees I am not talking about the MD or even the MD’s personal secretary, I mean the employee on the ground floor who seems to be going from a culture of, “We are all equal and responsible for our own work.” To a culture of. “my instructions are laid out in such a way that a monkey could do my job.” If they had first managed to master the multitude of other activities that Honeywell now deem important to enable one to do their job of work in a satisfactory and timely manner.. What these new systems, 5S’s and SSP’s actually do is tie up employees from their primary tasks.. All well and good if you have a large workforce and the need to fill down time slots, not good when you have already been cut to the bone, something has to give, be that Profit, Quality, or indeed Safety….
