Pros

There are a few coworkers that are fantastic. Diverse workforce. Pressure to perform is relatively low.

Cons

There is not a single senior engineer left in this department. There is zero mentoring. There is zero professional development. Most projects are basically a manufacturing transfer where you get to play the role of whipping boy for the customers. There is zero innovation, every machine at your disposal is 20 years old. Salaries and raises are pathetically small and there are no performance bonuses for anyone that isn't senior level, while the CEO brags about how every year is setting records for sales. HR claims they do a salary survey of the area to remain competitive, but they must only be surveying the local McDonalds.

Pros

Great inspector/technician/operator/engineer relationships-- most are highly skilled and a pleasure to be around. There is a real sense of community here.

Cons

For years, two department heads were in an unethical relationship that lead to countless conflicts of interest, created an uncomfortable, unprofessional work environment, and on occasion even jeopardized employee safety. Any HR personnel who refused tacit approval of this arrangement were quickly shown the door. Management would, like clockwork, ask for SME input only to disregard it completely before taking on even more projects they would dump on the already overloaded engineering teams. Countless talented individuals were lost to burnout and turnover. Much later, management started to come around and manage resources more realistically, and the individuals in the compromising relationship were pushed out of the company, but only after incalculable business and talent had been lost and trust in management had been completely undermined. Too little too late.
