      "Fluor; not a bad company afterall"

      Pros

      One of the best ENC companies to work for in terms of work/life balance. Fluor has a tremendous backlog that should keep them busy for the next five years. Fluor Houston office is also situated in the suburbs of Sugar Land which makes it a very friendly work location with respect to the number of shops that you can visit before/after work in the event that one needs to buy something for their home.

      Cons

      It is a really big company and may be made to feel like a number some days. There is also a fair amount of neputism within the company.

      Pros

      Fluor is a very large and diverse organization. There are opportunities to move around, not only different locations but also withing the company. Changing departments and finding your spot in Fluor in easily available. Paid Overtime is always a nice perk that is often time not available else where. Knowledge sharing is strongly encouraged among everyone, so learning and gaining experience occurs rapidly. Fluor has a very good benefits package for families and retirement.

      Cons

      One of the drawbacks of a large company is that it can be overwhelming or you can get lost in the mix. Sometimes it can be hard to separate yourself as a strong worker in a group because there are so many others. Tight deadlines on projects can be stressful. Fluor is predominantly in a cyclical industry in the oil & gas sector (though they are more diverse now than in the past, but still mostly refining), so when times are good, everyone is happy. But when times are bad, layoffs happen quickly.

      Pros

      The vast amount of opportunites to travel abroad. I enjoy working at Fluor because the people are very nice and friendly and easy to work with. They are also very helpful. When you have a problem it is easy to talk to a co worker and get help. The office is very nice and the work schedule is very convienient. Fluor is very understanding with you work schedule and allows you to take time off when needed. The time off with pay is very plentiful. it is easy to save the TOWP hours and have lots of vacation time. last vacation i took was a 2 weeks vacation in Hawaii.

      Cons

      It is a very cyclical company dependant on the oil industry. When the oil market is good then flour has plenty of projects to attend to but when the market is bad then it is very slow. When it is slow then fluor will lay off lots of workers. This is very frusterating to get laid off because there is not work and then getting hired back on when the work is there. Also the cubicles are very small and do not allow you to stretch completely. Unfortunantly the food is not very good either it is the same every day.
