      Good Pay - Poor Conditions

      Pros

      The salaries paid in the Middle East are very good. Company-supplied living quarters are excellent. However, long drives both ways to/from the work site mean very early starts and late returns to the living quarters.

      Cons

      Location - the Middle East is the worst place in the world to work. This is as much for weather conditions as it is politics. Six-day work weeks are too much. A person should have 2 days off to recuperate after the long, hot days during the week.

      Pros

      Intern experience is heavily based on the department in which you work. My experience was good. I mainly learned about the EPC industry. Excellent facilities at the Houston location.

      Cons

      I was not given the technical challenge I would have liked as an engineering intern. Loads of data entry as an intern.

      Pros

      Lots of changes in past year, and company has done well to adjust. Strong emphasis on learning (as long as it doesn't cost any additional $$)

      Cons

      Excessive level of mid-management. Promotes training but doesn't do anything about it. Won't send employees anywhere or pay for it. Maybe it's just my group. Not a lot of confidence in the industry right now.
