      If you enjoy the challenge of EPCM, Fluor is a great place to work.

      Pros

      Senior engineers are great mentors. Fluor procedures are outstanding.

      Cons

      The only downside with Fluor is that compensation is based on number of years of experience, instead of performance. People doing an excellent job unfortunately gets paid the same as a guy who sleeps in meeting and does absolutely nothing.

      Pros

      -Great company to learn about the EPC business. -Alot of knowledgeable people work at Fluor. -Knowledge information sharing is outstanding. -Fluor does a good job at employee recognition.

      Cons

      -Compared to other companies, it takes forever to move up within the company. -If you travel overseas to work, you will most likely stay in a man camp..NO HOTEL -When business is slow, there is a possibility for mass layoffs.

      Bad Management of Younger Workforce

      Pros

      Fair pay in comparison to competitors Tuition Reimbursement program Benefits package is OK Human Resources Department is easy to communicate with.

      Cons

      Career Development is non-existent for Exempt Salaried Employees. Annual Performance Assessments are conducted with minimal management effort. Retirees won't learn new technologies and treat the younger workforce bad. Retirees work very inefficiently and cause work flow to be slow. Very expensive company (overhead) which causes FLUOR to be too expensive so they don't win bids. Most work is overseas now. Pay increases are very minimal. Promote from the "Good-ol-Boy" crew methodology. If you have a relative or close friend higher up they will promote that person instead of the more qualified individual. Management seems very unorganized.
