Pros

There was nothing good. Don't bother looking for any of the good, there is none. There are none for women anyway.

Cons

I was not given the tools to do my job for one. I lugged my own printer, laptop and phone to jobs and they wouldn't even provide a token ID to get into the intranet! Cost a lousy $5 a month and said no. Mind you I was in a professional position, with required reports each month that required company intranet access. I was denied every bit of training I asked for as well. Now, you would think that I was a bump on the log, to fill a gender quota (that's how I was treated), but when I needed some time off to see my dying father it was -- "oh no, you can't take time off." I was almost fired when I basically said, "I have 10 weeks of vacation available, because you never let me take time off. I can get another job, I can't get another dad." The favoritism, the nepotism, the discrimination against those who are educated and ambitious are qualities that are embraced -- not rebuked in any way -- at Fluor. I hate what they did to my career and my life.

Pros

It has plenty of project work.

Cons

My experience was that the current global procurement organizaton was promoting individuals based on their ethnicity. I can say it because I am of Asian descent. My husband was caucasian so he was told by his supervisor he did not the certain ethinic that the company was currently looking for. Also it seemed it was easier for a women to get accepted in the Global Business Leadership Team than a man. Again this was my experience.

Pros

I enjoyed the time I worked at Fluor. Provided me with projects that kept me challenged and always learning. The company provided lots of opportunities for training etc. Fluor so far has had the best benefits, vacation, and compensation package I have had. I am disappointed I no longer work for this caliber of a company and highly recommend working for them.

Cons

The Fluor Campus I was at was located in Sugar Land, TX (AKA Houston). I did not care for Houston much which lead to me leaving Fluor. Maybe, this is a plus to some just not at all for me.
