Pros

Fluor offers top pay. There are a lot of good people to work with.

Cons

Fluor is a big company and it is easy to get lost in the crowd. The company has a tendancy to hire people and put them in a cubicle and have them do nothing. Fluor does not care because the client gets billed for the time. Flour has a tendancy to overstaff the projects and work inefficiently so that they can bill more hours to the client. Anyone contemplating a job with Fluor has to keep in mind that there is a good chance that you will be placed in a cubicle with nothing to do so that your time can be billed to the customer. Management is distant from the people that work for them. They go our of their way to avoid interaction with the "worker bees". It is difficult to have a decent discussion with your supervising manager regarding the work you do and your future career.

Pros

Oppurtunity to work on high profile projects. Seems to be a fair amount of room for advancement. The majority of people are willing to lend a hand help those with less experience. Mentoring is encouraged and supported. The benefits is good and the time off and vacation plan is excellent. Training and continuing education opputunities are available as well.

Cons

Being such a large company you can at times feel like only a number. Management at times feels they know better than the people responsible for their portion of work. At times you get bogged down by procedures and paper work.
