Pros

I've been reading a lot of the reviews here and paying attention to 'Cons' part. Some people aren't happy that you have to work very hard, or that HubSpot has a specific culture, or that you're promised X but get Y - not something that I've experienced. I get that as companies grow there will be some pains and because we're dealing with people.. you can't please everyone, but people need to take a step back and stop venting - we're all human and trying really hard to make a fantastic working environment. Unless you've worked some crappy jobs (and I have) than I don't think you can appreciate just how much we're given. I'm also a little confused why some people are upset about working hard: You get out what you put in, particularly if you're in sales. The amount of support, training and help you get is outstanding. It's the only company that I've ever worked in where you have: free food, gym, an onsite trainer, where you can ask any manager for help and get it, you can ask any team member for help... and get it, you can ask the tech team for help and they solve the problem within minutes - this doesn't happen in other companies! Additionally, the perks are better than most other companies: free food/drink, alcohol, games room, education, training, gym... the list goes on. Pros - Best solution on the market - Fantastic working environment - Competitive environment - Very talented employees - Food/Drink etc - Great CEO who speaks to you like he appreciates what you're doing for him and the company - Really nice people who care about their job - Great opportunities for upskilling and career path is set in front of you

Cons

- Brian Halligan needs to stop saying "top of the mornin' to ye" when he's on the radio in Ireland - nobody in Ireland says that. - Where the hell is the ping pong table in the new Dublin office? - Sometimes too many meetings - The free beer runs out too often. Also, while I'm on this subject: the keg room isn't refrigerated so when we have to (manually - there should be a robot that does this for us) change the kegs, the fresh beer is warm - this must be fixed. Btw, thanks for changing the taps - Not enough women on the sales side. I understand that this is because far less women apply for a sales roles, but it would be nice

Thanks for the review, and for helping our team globally grow from Dublin. Most importantly, I like that your review is infused with perspective--we provide a dynamic environment and continue iterating to ensure that it's a great place to work, but in turn, we hire remarkable people and give them the autonomy to create opportunities and growth, so thanks for sharing that context with candidates, I think it's really helpful. With regard to ping pong, the table has been ordered, so that should be remedied shortly, and I heard similar feedback on Brian's greetings on Irish radio, so will chat with him to convey your sentiment here as well. He's nothing if not enthusiastic, and loves our Dublin team, so it comes from a good place. I don't think we'll be purchasing a robot anytime soon on the kegs, but my hope is that the range of other good options is suitable in the DubSpot kitchen. All kidding aside, I agree both that we need to keep an eye on culture and that we need to be mindful of the gender ratio on our sales team. My hope is that the first Leading Ladies event we hosted at the Dublin office is the start of a broader push around gender and inclusion in the office and that that helps improve our ratios over time, but if you have additional specific ideas there, send them my way. Thank you again for the review and for your hard work on behalf of HubSpot. Sincerely, Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
