Pros

The colleagues you work alongside

Cons

I would not recommend working for this company. From top management is poor, disorganised, and lacks real leadership. There is a clear boys’ club atmosphere, where friends and family connections mean far more than actual talent or hard work. If you are not part of the inner circle, do not expect career progression, recognition, or support. Start-ups can be high-pressure but often come with the reward of growth and development—this is not one of those cases. Hard work is not valued, and there are little to no professional development opportunities. Instead, most promotions are handed out based on personal connections rather than merit. The company is burning through cash at an alarming rate, and instead of addressing the real issues, they are making cuts across the board. Staff are overworked, underappreciated, and subjected to unnecessary pressure from managers who have no real leadership skills. The culture is toxic, and the working atmosphere is unpleasant, with low morale and no real incentives to stay. If you are considering a role here, I would strongly advise weighing up other options.

Pros

Hybrid working structure and the regional team before redundancies were made.

Cons

The business is severely undermined by poor management and questionable leadership decisions, with individuals being promoted into roles they are clearly not equipped to handle. There is a significant lack of communication between the north and south operations, creating confusion and inefficiency across the company. I was left with minimal support while expected to manage an entire region, taking on responsibilities equivalent to a senior leadership role without any recognition or appropriate remuneration. The culture appears to favour an “inner circle,” with progression often influenced by personal relationships rather than merit, which is both demoralising and unprofessional. Combined with substantial company debt and redundancy decisions that seemed to target the wrong individuals, my experience was ultimately a frustrating misuse of time and effort.

Pros

Aira has a positive and supportive working environment where teamwork, learning, and personal development are strongly encouraged. The company culture is friendly and inclusive, making it easy to feel part of the team from day one. Senior management is approachable and regularly engages with employees, which helps create open communication and a strong sense of collaboration. There are plenty of opportunities to grow within the company, and hard work is recognised and rewarded. Overall, it’s a fast-paced but enjoyable environment for people who are motivated, willing to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Cons

Normal new company issues - streamlining procedures and improving process. Fantastic role for somebody wanting to work hard and learn/grow.
