Pros

He came in and was the only person in senior management that was trying. He was the only one who knows what it takes to run a company like this.

Cons

He must have seen there was no salvation at this point or he was tired of pushing the rock uphill with no help. Beginning of the end.

Pros

Great health insurance program, loved most of my co-workers in my department, good coffee and snacks available, wellness program reimbursed gym membership, nice location in Denver West.

Cons

Upper management does not listen to concerns of employees, business development professionals pursuing unrealistic bids, laying off quality employees from every department except higher level employees

Pros

As almost everyone has mentioned the health insurance at ECC is outstanding. Company paid with a very low deductible. The majority of the people that still remain with the company are friendly, hardworking (they have to be due to the layoffs) and abnormally, optimistically, beyond all reason, patient.

Cons

For 20 years ECC was a company with no debt who was growing and expanding. Then almost 3 years ago came the reckoning day. The "ECC Way" no longer worked and huge losses resulted. ECC has always paid slightly below the industry standard but touted their outstanding bonuses. These bonuses disappeared 2 years ago which left everyone with just below industry pay. Every quarter the dog and pony bigwig show would trot out and tell employees that everything had been figured out and things were looking up....except not so much. Between layoffs and talented people figuring out they could find better pay and stability elsewhere the company is bleeding talent. Those employees left are doing the job of 2 or 3 people with no increase in pay. Benefits are being cut while money is being spent on nonsensical things that make no difference to 95% of the employee population. Layoffs are starting again to try to get overhead under control. Instead of the layoffs starting at the top with the "fat" the current policy seems to be to lay off the lower end employees and call it progress toward the goal. Favoritism is shown towards cuts made with little or no overview of who is carrying the increased load and who is friends with the VP's.
