Pros

- Great culture with clean and semi-modern offices - Company continues to improve on employee offerings such as paid leave, matching 401k, and other things - Good product that customers know and love making this a safe and stable company to work for.

Cons

- Some "Bad Apple" leadership positions can ruin the experience for employees stuck under those individuals. - "Good ol Boy" mentality is still present where a lot of recognition and benefits are given to people based on personal relationships vs merit or earned - Diversity is so bad it's almost a joke? While it's common for people to complain these days, you can't deny that the executive leadership is almost entirely white males. Company wide events are also very heavily white. This company is primarily west coast US, which limits options. - Product teams seem a bit out-of-touch with the rest of the company, making it a frustrating place to work for customer-facing roles at times. - Recognition is typically only given tot hose with outstanding "lucky" performance via large deals won and Presidents Club style events are awarded on a "Good-ol-Boy" basis vs strict rules for attainment.

Thank you for taking the time to write a thoughtful review. You mention worrisome observations and we take this type of feedback seriously. I have forwarded your message to our CPO, Joan Burke and your HRBP, Molly Lambright. If you feel comfortable reaching out to either person to discuss further, I encourage you to do so.

Pros

DocuSign treats there employees like adults and I just love that. Not every company in the Bay Area does this. They are super flexible with you, if you need to work remotely for whatever reason you can. The management level here has been awesome and that's not again always the case for big companies. Transparency is key and they know how to respectfully be transparent while also helping you as individuals get to your next career goals. The benefits are amazing as you can see from the reviews. They pay 100% of medical and dental and vision, that's not heard of in most companies in the Bay Area. They stock the fridges with tasty healthy snacks, although I wish they had oatmeal like they do in Seattle (hint hint). They offer generous Maternity leave, 6 months which is honestly needed, 3 months is too short for any new mother. The overall vibe is a collaborative space and most people truly want to be here and that is what contributes to the great cultural. Our CEO Dan Springer is such a breath of fresh air! He truly cares about the employees here and you can tell because he's so open and honest. He doesn't sugar coat anything and listens. Bravo!

Cons

The commuter benefits (which they have) could be a little more, by an extra 20-30 dollars. The only benefit they are really missing is a gym allowance. That would be great to have! Most companies offer anything between 70-100 dollars a gym to stay active and healthy. DocuSign is so committed to a balanced work life balance so I'm surprised they don't have this perk.

Pros

As someone who has been a career Sales Engineer, I figured going to DocuSign would be a great experience due to the momentum of the product and the strength of their sales org. I wasn't wrong on those assumptions, but that's not really why this has been such an amazing experience. The real deal is far simpler: this is a company that only hires people it believes in. When you get started here, there isn't a lot of hand-holding in the on-boarding process, not because they're lacking the resources, but because they trust that you're going to ask questions, be a part of the team, and involve others in your work. This is a company culture that is built around growing a happy customer base by first developing happy, successful, and confident employees. What that means for SEs is that you're going to be handed responsibilities off the bat that will immediately take you to another level. This is the kind of trust that is usually developed over months or even years of repetitive discos and demos at other companies (paying dues), but here they hire on trust, and then allow you to grow into a role that might initially be bigger than what you anticipated. So if what you're looking for is something that can help you grow out of a role that is starting to become routine, and allow you to start tackling real problems that test your ingenuity and resourcefulness, and do it at a place that doesn't make you feel small or dirty when you speak with customers, then start reaching out to people here and learn more. It's not a fit for everyone, but, if it is, it's going to feel right in a way that I've never felt before in my career, and that's a tremendous feeling.

Cons

There's not much to complain about with the job, I just wish we had 401k matching. I've heard rumors it's in the works, possibly around the time or after we IPO, but there's nothing set in stone. I also wish we had a gym stipend, but that might also come down the pike in the future. I also hope we continue to partner up fast with emerging technologies. I can't complain about this because we have a very well-documented API, but we should be top of the list for other emerging and growth companies when they think of integration partners, and sometimes we don't advertise enough and the end result requires revisions. Be proactive, trust the channels, and this won't be a problem down the line.
