Pros

As someone who has been a career Sales Engineer, I figured going to DocuSign would be a great experience due to the momentum of the product and the strength of their sales org. I wasn't wrong on those assumptions, but that's not really why this has been such an amazing experience. The real deal is far simpler: this is a company that only hires people it believes in. When you get started here, there isn't a lot of hand-holding in the on-boarding process, not because they're lacking the resources, but because they trust that you're going to ask questions, be a part of the team, and involve others in your work. This is a company culture that is built around growing a happy customer base by first developing happy, successful, and confident employees. What that means for SEs is that you're going to be handed responsibilities off the bat that will immediately take you to another level. This is the kind of trust that is usually developed over months or even years of repetitive discos and demos at other companies (paying dues), but here they hire on trust, and then allow you to grow into a role that might initially be bigger than what you anticipated. So if what you're looking for is something that can help you grow out of a role that is starting to become routine, and allow you to start tackling real problems that test your ingenuity and resourcefulness, and do it at a place that doesn't make you feel small or dirty when you speak with customers, then start reaching out to people here and learn more. It's not a fit for everyone, but, if it is, it's going to feel right in a way that I've never felt before in my career, and that's a tremendous feeling.

Cons

There's not much to complain about with the job, I just wish we had 401k matching. I've heard rumors it's in the works, possibly around the time or after we IPO, but there's nothing set in stone. I also wish we had a gym stipend, but that might also come down the pike in the future. I also hope we continue to partner up fast with emerging technologies. I can't complain about this because we have a very well-documented API, but we should be top of the list for other emerging and growth companies when they think of integration partners, and sometimes we don't advertise enough and the end result requires revisions. Be proactive, trust the channels, and this won't be a problem down the line.

Pros

From senior leadership down, they've set the bar for an incredible culture. As an MDR, you'll receive extensive sales and prospecting training, you'll be empowered to own your own book-of-business and you'll love the people you work with. Added plus that there's great growth and promotion opportunities.

Cons

Some growing pains - but that comes with the territory for a tech company rapidly increasing headcount.
