Pros

- Use of agile methodologies (Scrum and KanBan). - Glass team rooms: each team has his own team room, made out of glass walls on which you can doodle. - Flat organisation (Almost no overhead). - Near public transport (Rotterdam Central station). - Awesome team members and (international colleagues). - Quality above quantity: Proper solutions for exciting and challenging problems without cutting of corners. - If you think something should be improved (on a process or technical level), you can take time do so and improve the company! - Work on different projects (CRM system, Website, logistical software etc.)

Cons

I don't have any at the moment.

Pros

+ Large diversity in cultures working at Headoffice: Lot of interesting perspectives. + Strong company values, actively being promoted with clear vision on why they are being pursued. + Positive atmosphere that promoted building friendships and improve social cohesion. After hours activities like going to the pub, out to dinner or gaming together are encouraged and appreciated. Or play a game of pool during workhours. + CEO Pieter Zwart is a truly inspiring person and shares his vision regularly with the company. + Agile division with motivated and value-adding agile specialists help teams grow both at a professional level and also personal level. + Training resources available for both hard- and soft-skills to be effective at software development.

Cons

- Large diversity in cultures can lead to more miss-communications happening. - Slow start on work-from-home initiatives and support during COVID-19 epidemic. Mostly addressed at this point, but is an indicator that the company somewhat conservative in supporting it's employees. While valuing and promoting a 'just do it' mentality they failed to deliver on that value during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. - Working at the office in Rotterdam had a lot of perks, which you don't get when working remotely. And Coolblue does consider the 'at the office perks' part of it's compensation strategy, which during the COVID-19 working-from-home requirements makes Coolblue lose out of the appeal they used to have and exploit. Perhaps a temporary thing, but work hasn't been as fun as it used to before COVID-19.
