New leadership raises doubts

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Most of the community remains down to earth and disconnects with unfunded dreams of grandeur of the new leadership.

Cons

We can't be like a Unysis or a PWC , but we have a long way to go to become a contender to BCG. We profoundly lack a vision and cannot rely on relationships. That's a thing of the past! The biggest risk is to see small MBO or defectors to other company, like it is happening in Cap NL where a bunch of very smart guys are defecting to Deloitte, in group!

Easy Work - No Progression

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

- great work life balance as most of the time you aren’t actually doing much work - very flexible with24/7 wfh option and working abroad - generally people are quite nice to work with

Cons

- Career development - they have limited promotion slots to 1 space per 40 in grade, especially so on the junior end. They prioritise VP’s and Director progression and ignore anyone below managing consultant. As a result of which, attrition has been the highest I’ve ever seen and the 5 years I’ve been here. They are mostly losing their best talent and couldn’t seem to care as they still have a recruitment budget that “comes from a separate pot” they can’t use to reward people for their hard earned efforts and keep them around - Compensation - they are below the market average and have been for years, pay freezes for more than a year and over the course of my 4+ years with above average performance reviews, 2 of which came in the top 1% of the company, I have only ever had 1 pay raise and 1 promotion Learning & Development - their approach to developing yourself is solely through project experience, they will use a throw away line that they have some online courses but the quality of them are less than YouTube videos.

Avoid at all costs

Business Outlook

Pros

Very few pros come to mind, The office had free snacks. There was decent exposure to enterprise level projects and some bright minded colleagues who made work life bearable.

Cons

This is a company I would avoid working for at all costs... Senior Management are all extremely fake and only care about their own interests and success and will smile in your face and tear you down behind your back. The only thing that matters to leadership is how much revenue you can generate and how many deals you can ultimately bring in...very used car salesman vibes and a slimy culture to match. If you are an international worker, Capgemini will sponsor your work visa and take full advantage of your reliance on them to stay in the US. Please be warned. You will be treated like a pawn and leadership will knit pick every flaw you have to keep you from getting promoted because it reduces their profit margin. Just know that if you are accepting an offer with Capgemini Invent you will be entering an extremely political and toxic environment in which there is clear bias for who does the most brown nosing,
