      Pros

      Relentless focus on product roadmap. Excellent execution. Startup like culture that rewards risktaking. Excellent compensation and benefits package The work culture in Engineering is more like a startup company. The Engg. team works like a well oiled machine. The company still has the agility to react quickly and launch tactical product initiatives.

      Cons

      Not many opportunities for career advancement. Nepotism and politics in promotions. There is a clique in management that controls all major decisions including hiring and promotions. Promotions are not given on merit but for political reasons. This has alienated several employees. There is a class of employees that is regarded as "untouchable" due to their political onnections.

      Pros

      Brocade does some interesting work in a field with cut-throat competition...it's a miracle the company has survived this long. Brocade is good at utilizing commodity OTS SW (linux and so on) and specializing it for various products.

      Cons

      Uncertain future, plus the options backdating scandal really tarnished the stock. Too buzzword intensive...plus the marketing dept. uses questionable tactics...we should really be differentiating ourselves on our products, not badmouthing the competition.

      Pros

      Brocade values teamwork and that's what makes working here fun. If your a "teamplayer" you will fit in fine. The work here is leading edge and we are tops in our field (Fibre Channel switches). Additionally - the benefits are very good with EXCELLENT vacation time (6 weeks a year for me since I've been here over 5 years!!!!!!!!!). The pay is good and there is a very good Bonus program which has been paying out very well the past couple years. If your in the Hardware field, we are one of the few places in Silicon Valley that's still showing some creativity - primarily since we make our own ASIC's. That's what sets our products apart from others.

      Cons

      It's fast paced - so you need to keep up.
