Pros

- Work for a company with an innovative image. - High quality canteen. - Free in-house gym. - Free parking. - No pressure. You can do the bare minimum and stay here until you retire.

Cons

- Old-fashioned company structure and management style. Many management positions are hold by persons who joined the company in the early days. Time is more important than performance to get a promotion. - The salary is far below the local average for engineering positions. - There are a few perks, but keep in mind that the management decides what's good for you. You prefer football, tennis or swimming instead of going to the gym? No subsidy for this. You don't like the food at the canteen, you have allergies or for whatever reason you prefer to bring your own lunch? You won't find a single microwave oven in the whole building. And by the way: Eating in the offices is forbidden. - Limited privacy. The walls separating offices from corridors are made from glass and fully transparent. Confidential calls, either private or for business are difficult to arrange in the open-space offices. - No trade unions or works committee that take care of the employees' rights. - Home office and other flexible working solutions are not appreciated. COVID has obliged the company to take preventive actions and for certain periods working fully from remote was accepted. At present, however, everyone is obliged to come to the office 3 days a week. - Brainlab subsidizes commuting by car by providing free parking, however no support for public transport is granted. - It may happen that you're asked not to walk through the lobby while the area is used for an electoral campaign of the CSU. You're then requested to leave the building through the back door.

Pros

Nice work-life balance and headquarters

Cons

Very stagnant work environment with a ton of legacy tooling which leads to product fragility and rapid developer turnover. Teams are lacking resources to do their work effectively.
