Pros

You get to work with very intelligent and talented people across different industries and if you want to, across different geographic areas. Exposure to senior management at large local and international clients with sometimes very challenging yet satisfying discussions. High tempo and a steep learning curve, especially on how to manage and prioritise tasks.

Cons

Poor work-life balance, but most likely an effect of the generaly long working hours in Spain and as a consultant you always stay longer in the office than the client. Very little continuity and possibility to see the result of your work, as you normally get shifted into a different project before the client starts implementing your solutions. Sometimes also very frustrating from a staffing perspective, as you rarely get staffed well ahead of a project starting.

Pros

Outstanding learning curve, high brand value, steep salary trajectory, amazingly smart and genuinely nice colleagues

Cons

Travel can be brutal and work hours are long. Workload is unpredictable.

Pros

Development of expertise in multiple industries. Rapid development in project-based work. 360-degree feedback multiple times per year. A good work environment -- a social group of very intelligent, energetic, driven people. Opportunities to create your own path based on your specific career goals (e.g. focus on consumer goods, or focus on social impact projects, or try to develop your analytical skills)

Cons

Long hours, some limitations in terms of your ability to influence the staffing decisions made on your behalf. In the downturn, the performance evaluations are even more important, and the job selection can become more limited. Finally, some people dislike the travel, but I enjoy it. Some would prefer more "strategy" work.
