      Great people, quick pace

      Pros

      People at BCG are smart and down to earth, and this makes it very easy to spend long hours with your team. The learning curve is fast, I probably learned more during my first project at BCG than during a year at B-School. Finally BCG actually tries to make worklife balance a component of the consultant experience. Flexible for mobility.

      Cons

      I think the biggest downside is the amount of hours worked, however this is an issue at any consulting firm, and BCG at least makes an attempt to create better work/life balance.

      Pros

      Very few workplaces offer the types of challenges that you can get at BCG. BCG targets the best students from the top undergraduate and MBA programs. This makes BCG a much more enjoyable place to work because you know that you are working with the best. I most enjoy working on different client engagements and getting the opportunity to continually learn new industries and skills.

      Cons

      The travel is a little intense at times making work life balance a challenge.

      - Best opportunity to work on "pure" strategy cases (especially growth strategy) - Customized approach to each project / client keeps work fresh and interesting - Management trust and high expectations from the start helped me develop quickly - Innovative / breakthrough approach to balancing work-life (led to an HBS-published case) - Wonderful international work opportunities

      Cons

      High business growth, mixed with our customized approach, means little time to sit back and take a rest Internal knowledge sharing leads to great international conversations, but could be made more efficient
