Since the IBI acquisition many layers of bureaucracy and middle management have sprung up. Its getting waaaay harder to do anything productively. Waves of resignations have been happening as a result of the frustration. New middle managers are often sourced externally, depriving local staff of promotion opportunities, and creating barriers and conflict. Also strong push to outsource local work to India and Philippines offices, who often are nowhere near as good at their jobs.

Avoid working at Arcadis if you're in Toronto! Not a team work environment and questions were discouraged. No work training and other employees are looking to pass blame/squash the newbies. Constant negativity towards other employees. Overtime hours are expected but are NOT paid. I was excluded and treated horribly. Other new employees got free equipment and lunches when starting, I did not. Its very hot and cold on who is liked or not. It was shocking how badly they wanted me gone when I started ... all I wanted to do was excel and do well. Hard to do when you're excluded and set up to fail. I tried very hard but it was an absolute mess.
