Environmental Engineer I/II
Pros
This is a tough review for me to write because I worked in two different Arcadis offices and had wildly different experiences in each. I was hired into a great office on the west coast , great people, great project, great potential for advancement. Advice to anyone interviewing or applying would be to really pay attention to the local office culture. These reviews don't differentiate office to office or region to region very well. There are pockets of really great stuff in Arcadis and pockets of really bad stuff. If you are lucky enough to get hired into an office that cares about your career and you as a person then you will do great. I gave 3 stars here because I see a lot of potential with Arcadis and had this review only bee about my former office it would have been 5 stars.
Cons
The second office I transferred to was on the east coast and had a wildly different culture than I was used to, hence causing me to leave. People were sneaky, antisocial, and for the most part did not care about your career at all, even your own managers. In fact, I would often see tattletaling and throwing of coworkers under the bus to get ahead. I didn't see anyone get promoted and heard stories of some people being at the same level for many years. I don't like saying anything negative about Arcadis overall since I believe (or hope) this is an isolated case, but looking at some of the other reviews it most likely isn't. So, make sure you really get a good feel for the office before committing to Arcadis.
