Pros

Amazon feels like an ecosystem of many different startups. So it gives the opportunity to collaborate with so many different and diverse teams. It encourages strong ownership from all individuals which allows you to really learn a lot. It also encourages horizontal and vertical career growth. You can easily switch teams and roles if you want to. Finally, you get the chance to focus on real world applications.

Cons

Amazon is very Seattle (US) centric. European teams still function as satellite teams. This can influence work-life balance due to timezone differences. Also, workload can be too heavy even though this greatly depends on the team you’re on.
