A golden cage without opportunities for non political characters

Pros

Of course, the advantages are the golden cage: * Lots of perks and benefits * Being on the French Riviera (for those who like it) * Being paid even if you are not really doing much... * Looks good on your CV, especially if you are in the travel industry * Good to start your career or if you are close to retirement

Cons

* No real room for growth, unless you are a ruthless strategic person who prefers to kiss ass and socialize in order to move forward, so there are so many people in powerful positions that are rubbish at their job but they are friends with other powerful people who help them. * No possibility to implement any good ideas, everything comes from top management down. * You will be surrounded by either talented people being frustrated most of the time because they are not getting challenged, or they are getting exploited with no recognition, while others are just sitting around not doing anything and getting paid the same. * If you are in the middle of your professional life and really strive for learning, growing, getting the challenges and recognition for what you are doing, please don't fall in the trap of the great location and benefits package...seriously! It's a trap! * Salaries are crap despite what they want to make you believe.

A company of losers

Business Outlook

Pros

A very stable job. Climate is fine.

Cons

It's a company of losers. I can't say it otherwise, the mediocrity of people working here is staggering. They are not only crappy engineers, if they are even engineers at all, but they even totally lack ambition and drive. Completely uncompetitive people holding onto their positions while gossipping about coworkers and pretending to be important, doing the same thing over and over again, every day, since they came here. Career? What's that? You can be lucky if after 7 years you get one level up or at least to a different country. "Employee mobility" hahaha, what a joke. The company is literally filled with people working here for 15+ years! Developers' salary is ok for new grads, but it doesn't grow at all, except for inflation adjustments, so after 3 years it's below average. Your best choice is to get a job elsewhere, because in Amadeus you'll never get a raise or a promotion. Unless you have a diploma from a top university. Then it's enough to know how to sign yourself, and they'll make you a senior manager. It's preposterous. Meritocracy? Never heard of it. Job is otherwise very boring, and codebase and documentation are a total mess.

Pros

Working for more than a year at Bangalore Office, Here is my Genuine inputs. PROS: 1. Lot of Celebrations & No dress code. 2. Fairly friendly colleagues & Lot of fun on floor. 3. Travel Domain (Airlines mainly - Don't expect Onsite) 4. We started using Outlook :)

Cons

CONS: 1. Extreme Favoritism : While favoritism is common in most companies, in my 4+ years of work experience, only here have I seen where your success and chances of getting ahead are directly dependent on how much your manager likes you. Hard Working Souls, Do not expect any hike from the management. The people who are close to the managers will have a great hike also with a great designation. Need Hike - Be Close to Managers, You will get it :) 2. Onsite: If you have luck and good relation with management then you will get Onsite opportunities. 3. Low compensation: The compensation is really low and well below market standards. The hikes are also pathetic. (Old employees getting more benefits is what I've felt) 4. No effort to maintain staff : There is no effort from the management staff to retain people. People are leaving in large numbers and there is no effort being made to retain them. As a result a lot of good people have left in the last Couple of months. 5. Policies : The company has no defined policies and the lack of defined policies and processes results in a lot of chaos making it very hard for people to work. 6. Process: There should be a separate Testing Process. 7. IJP: People should be given an opportunities to switch internally. 8. Communication: Kindly educate Managers about the importance of Communication, Manager should call for regular discussions. 9. Learning: No good Learning Curve. 10. Gym: No In-house Gym (We know the space crunch, but its good to have our own gym) 11. WFH: No WFH option. 12. Mission Vision: No proper Mission Vision, 13. Career: Not a place to work for long term. (I've heard this statement from many on the floor) 14. Work Environment: Influence based environment 15. Attrition: It claims to have lowest attrition in industry, but we all Doubt it.
