      Great example of how to ruin a great company

      Pros

      Very good salary and benefits Low stress level if you can say "NO" Good people from around the world No consequences for failures

      Cons

      1. Due to its almost monopoly status, too much easy money causing to much confidence that we have invented the wheel. 2. Employees trusted less than external vendors and contractors. 3. Too many bad ideas of always the same people, without consequences after they mostly fail. 4. Cutting edge only on paper and slides. Politics, bureaucracy, mediocracy and poor, short-sighted management (respect the few exceptions) everywhere you look. 5. Career and promotion requirements are completely unclear and only possible after time, if at all.

      Pros

      The lucky ones can work with brand new technology,in a financially excellent company. Good compensation. Easy to get support for training. Nice and international work environment and low stress level.

      Cons

      Very old outdated rigid processes. No technical career path and big gap between management and workers. Roles are designed for protective behavior not for efficiency (bureaucracy). Strictly no career opportunities at all and NO reward for outstanding performance. Politics ruining the work culture, lots of people working there for long enough not to know about any new things in the outside world.

      Pros

      Great international team working on a great project. The first year was really cool as we were like a start-up with "unlimited budget" in this huge company. Low level management was really good and supportive.

      Cons

      High level management turned the company into an "investment company with quick cash return expectations" and started to kill innovations teams one after another. I saw literally zero respect or compassion towards the teams. Entire units were shut down when the market was looking forward to their products, simply because they would not be profitable early enough.
