Pros

Accenture taught me to far exceed my client's expectations in order to remain entrenched in customer endeavors and consistently generate revenue through follow-on projects. In my three years I was consistently pushed beyond my comfort zone to eventually provide my customer's with truly valuable deliverables. Employees were promoted based on merit and accomplishments rather than seniority. Accenture’s annual review process provided valuable feedback on how others perceived my consultative approach and work product.

Cons

Long Hours: If you are awake you're typically working As a senior consultant, my bonus was only 5% of base salary (though I did have the option to purchase stock at 15% discount) Travel: 4 or 5 days on the road gets old after a few years

Pros

Great name to add to your resume. Filled with young go-getters and very knowledgeable people. Projects area always something of vital importance, lots of opportunity to learn

Cons

Cutthroat office politics favor brown-nosers and cute blondes over hard workers and great ideas. "Up or out" career path creates more management than actual workers, which creates a terrible work life balance at the lower ranks. Pay far below average for entry level people, which creates huge turnover and morale issues among the workers. Management rarely comprehends complex technical problems which they are contracted to remedy, which often results in impossible project timelines

Pros

Good for gaining experience. Career advancement is relatively fast compared to industry. You can learn a lot if you make a conscious effort.

Cons

Work-life balance doesn't exist. Travelling can take a lot out of you. By the time you get home on Thurs/Fri, you're completely exhausted. Depending on the project, you do get some time to explore the city you're in and have a good time, but that's the exception, not the rule. Salaries are terrible compared to the industry. To get promoted, it's not always how good of a job you do, but who you know. Accenture resources are bright and hardworking, but lack technical skills. Sometimes you will find that you have to pick up the slack for the less technically gifted.
