Pros

When I joined ADP Global View, in 2011, I was very interested in the ADP (US) way of doing business. I openly admired the laid back attitude, coupled with the ability, to succeed in all the different industry segments. Beyond this, Global View, the ADP SAP based business unit, was having a tremendous growth phase. The need for experienced SAP professionals was great. At the time, ADP still pursued the strategy of having an SSC, while using the vast, in-depth knowledge of in-country, senior resources, to secure full compliance with EU statutory regulations. The horizontal Governance of the service teams, included both payroll services and application support teams, split into country clusters, was a dream come true, as some critical success factors were easier to tackle. Many BPO companies tend to go for a vertical governance, landlocking service teams, making seemless service integration, near impossible.

Cons

Ever changing Senior Management (in EMEA) is the biggest risk. In eight years of service, I have had 5 Sevice Directors come and go. Most of the Senior Management were not sourced internally. Moreover, very few of them have any sort of experience in the SAP driven products and services. If you couple this, with the complete absence of internal communication, then you have the perfect receipe for an work environment of fear and insecurity, detrimental to any sort of ambition, to perform stellar service.
