Supervisors interview you and then have to send you back for second interview with salaried management and if they like you, after a background check and drug screen that you pass you're hired
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walmart (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2015
Interview
I applied and received a call about 4-6 days later and was asked to come in for an interview. When I arrived I saw 1 other gentleman sitting down waity there and 2 more arrived shortly after. We were all asked to come to the back in a employee back room and we began a group interview where they asked about us (they want to know about previous job history), and also why we should be hired. After all 4 people went were asked to go back to the waiting area in the Photo Center just outside the employee entrance to the back. Two guys were dismissed and another person and I were asked to come in the back to the back room and were given a second interview. They asked pretty basic interview questions and customer service questions as well, I recommend studying how to answer basic interview questions on YouTube to really give you piece of mind. After the 2nd interview we were asked to go back the waiting area while they made a decision and they later came back to get us a third time. Once we were in the room the two of us were congratulated and told we both were hired. We filled out the normal paper work for background checks and drug screening. We were later dismissed and given instructions to go to a local clinic within 24 hours to complete the drug test. Once the drug test was completed and passed, I received a call the morning after telling me to report in a couple of days for orientation and in uniform (Navy blue collared polo, khakis and sneakers). And that was pretty much it.

Interview
It was very smooth. My manager was really kind and respectful. The questions asked were like those I had heard before. The personnel department was very organized and they didn't make me wait long to get my interview. Once I sat down and spoke to the interviewing manager I was very at ease because they were not too harsh with the interview. I did a phone interview and then a 1 on 1 interview. One of the easiest and cleanest hiring processes I have seen.
