9 rounds, first round including hr screening. i had a panel interview with 4 other team members and a final interview with the manager. the questions were a mix of technical and behavioral questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (New York, NY) in Dec 2025
Interview
Overall it was pretty smooth and professional. Do expect a very fast-paced environment, starting from the first screening call.
This feedback below is specifically towards the technical assessment round of the interview. There seems to be a disconnect between the hiring manager (head of the team) and the tech-round interviewer (unsure if they're on the team) on what would be assessed. For the data analyst role, I got an algorithm Python question that's pure logic with no hints nor feedback. I was confused by the content focus of the technical round, which differed from my discussion with the hiring manager. The interviewer didn't confirm my name and the role I'm applying for. The opening was, "Let's get on HackerRank and this is the first problem." So it almost felt like I was tested on the wrong set of questions - I was expecting more SQL + a little bit of Python Pandas.
