Interview
The interview and hiring process was pretty quick and easy. I spoke with 2 different managers in one day. The whole process took less than a hour and they hired me on the spot.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TJ Maxx in May 2011
Interview
It is an easy process, once an application is turned in management will look over it within a few days and call to set up an interview. Lately most of the interviews in my store have been group style where the applicants "interview" each other and then introduce their partner to the group. There have also been some where the manager will go around the room and have everyone take turns answering questions. Both allow all applicants to demonstrate interpersonal communication skills and styles. After an interview orientation is usually set up a couple of days later. The orientation is tedious, but informative. After orientation is completed the new associates are usually paired with someone to train them in certain ares their first few shifts.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at TJ Maxx (San Antonio, TX) in Oct 2014
Interview
Sent an application, received a call 3-4 days later asking if I could attend a group interview the next day. Went to the interview, there were 4 other people for the interview. 3 managers talked to all of us and took us around the store explaining briefly some store policies and some ideas of what we would be doing if hired. They barely asked any questions and didn't really demand an answer either. One manager told us she would call us that day if we were hired and said it was most likely because they are hiring lots of people. Was called 3 hours later and was hired.
