Question 1
How do balance different design options and decide which one you want to ship?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Meta in Apr 2021
Interview
I was referred by a friend that works there.
A recruiter reached out indicating how impressed he was with my experience and wanted to schedule a meeting moving forward.
We scheduled the meeting and he didn't show up during the schedule time. I emailed to enquire what happened but there wasn't a response on his end.
Ignored, I went on to reschedule another meeting with this recruiter using the calendar link provided. This time, he responded via text 5 mins prior to the meeting, asking if we could reschedule. I relented as I was still actively looking at that time.
The next day, I finally got to talk to the recruiter. He called 10 mins late from the agreed time. During the meeting, the recruiter was informative and professional and promised to follow up in 2 days.
2 days passed, no news no follow ups. I texted the recruiter if there were any news and got ghosted.
This is by far the worst recruiting experience I have encountered so far. As far as it goes, my unsavory experience was reported via my contacts at facebook and the facebook recruiting team restarted the process with another recruiter that proved to be much better.
Unfortunately, with the time lost in the first 2 weeks of no-shows and ghosting, Facebook is unable to match the timeline of my recruiting process.
I have decided to go with my other offers instead.
