I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin in May 2007
Interview
I came in to an interview session where there were dozens of other interviewees which actually helped me to remain calm. They served beverages and bagels and the human resources staff were extremely friendly. You get called in for at least one (I had 3) one on one or two on one interviews where they discuss your resume your background etc, typical interview stuff. Once the day was over I went hope feeling good, and received an email about a week or so later letting me know that I have a choice between two positions.

Interview
I interviewed at Lockheed Martin in the summer of 2009. I applied through their website and was called for a brief phone interview with a person from the Human Resource department. At the end of the interview I was given a time and date to meet with the person who would be my supervisor. I was told that the interview would last for no longer than an hour. When I got to the Lockheed Martin, I found out that I had been given the wrong building number and had to go to a different building. Fortunately, I had arrived early. When I got there, I was interviewed by two people who were very nice and spoke highly of the project that I would be working on. After this interview I was given an assignment to work on that took about two hours to complete. The assignment was to research and write about a rare genetic disease that they had chosen and then to translate the information into Spanish. The total amount of time that I spent at the interview was three hours. This was upsetting because the time slot that they gave me for the interview was at noon which meant that I missed a late lunch appointment that I had with a colleague who worked in the area. Three weeks later I had not heard back from Lockheed Martin. I called the Human Resource person who I had originally spoken with, and she told me that Lockheed had lost the contract and that they no longer had a position available. I was upset and disappointed to hear this because I had specifically asked during my interview about the status of the contract, and they had told me that Lockheed would have the contract for another three years. Overall this was a very bad experience and I would think twice about applying to another position at Lockheed Martin.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All questions asked during my interview were standard interview questions. Describe your experience with...., tell us a bit about yourself.

Interview
First of all, they were desperate. I went to a job fair and after talking to one developer for 15 minutes, I left as it was the end of the day. I received a phone call from the hiring manager within 10 minutes and was told I had the job. Then I was passed to someone else for salary negotiations.
The lady in charge of hiring had no real knowledge of the position or the contract and could could not answer any questions about the benefits. They finally let me talk to someone in human resources to find out more about the health benefits.
The whole process was the most unorganized mess I have ever seen. The company is so large that no one has more than a bit of information. The amount of people and phone calls I had to go through to get what I consider basic information about the position and benefits were unbelievable. So bad, that I almost did not take the position.
I will say that the people that have been interviewed since I came on, undergo a bit more intense interview process, but not much more... The positions they are looking for on my site are hard to fill, so they are not being super picky.
Also, had to take a drug test and an extremely lengthy application that took me days to fill out. They run an intensive background and credit check, do not lie or leave out information on the application. You have to list everything, inlcuding places you may have only lived for a few months. The whole process was exhausting.
