First was standard HR phone screen verifying my experience... then I had to solve a technical problem in 3hours or less before coming on site. It was rest related and involved sort and recreating complex data structures in json. It was a hard problem I found, and I did not get past it. The HR person was really cool and emphasized that if I worked on my skills more they would still be open to working with me.

Question 1
technical code challenge done on own... was supposed to be solvable in one hour... i did not do well...
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and I'm glad you had a positive experience with us in spite of the outcome. We recognize that our coding test is challenging, but is designed to give you a sense of the real technical challenges you'll be working on here. I hope we see you again in the future! All the best, Becky
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Mar 2018
Interview
First round: Typical 30-minute chat with recruiter to make sure you're not a crazy person or a bad fit.
Second round: At-home coding exercise. 3-hour time cap. Retrieve a set of raw data from a RESTful endpoint. Raw data represents client availability across different office locations. Parse and process that data to determine the time most clients are available per office to hold an event. Submit response to another RESTful endpoint.
Third round: 4-hour on-site. First, tour around the office with the recruiter + general chit-chat. Next, technical interview involving JavaScript language specifics. Next, behavioral discussion with Director of Engineering. Next, technical interview testing JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. Next, technical interview with a more traditional technical interview problem. Last, recap with the recruiter. There was no white boarding. I was able to write real code on my own laptop.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2017
Interview
Applied online, within 1-2 days got an answer from HR telling that they liked my CV and wanted to go forward with the process. Had a coding challenge at home, passed then had my personal interview.
I liked a lot to be honest. In the office I had a chat with about 5-6 people, first with the Recruiter, second with two guys which asked me things related to architecture, third a SQL challenge (which I failed - honestly it's been at least 6 years I don't work with SQL, just NoSQL) and finally with a manager.
Despite the SQL, which was the only remote challenge, (also the call was very bad and I couldn't hear the interviewers properly) I really liked the company and I think their hiring process is good, people seems to be very smart and they respond quickly when you submit questions/enquiries through e-mail.
I recommend this company for everyone.
