Just 2 days after I submitted my application, I was contacted by the hiring manager to set up an initial interview. I submitted a few blocks of time and received a meeting request within the same day. Ended up having a conflict come up, but the manager was very accommodating and got us set up with another time that same day. The initial interview was very conversational. The hiring manager immediately put me at ease, and the rest of the interview felt more like a fun chat between long-time colleagues. At the end, I was told to expect an email from one of the recruiters to set up the final panel interview. At this point, my mind was made up about HubSpot. Little did I know, I completely underestimated how much better things would get. Within another day or two, I was contacted by a recruiter to provide 3-hour blocks of time for the panel interview. I was also sent a case study to work on and bring in to discuss during the interview. The panel interview was set up very quickly, and I got to work on the case study. I originally intended to spend about 2 hours on the case study, but I ended up getting into the ‘zone’. Next thing I knew, 5 hours had flown by! The day before the panel interview, I had the opportunity to talk to one of the recruiters. I was able to get advice on how to approach the interview and answers to several other questions I had about the process. If you get the chance to interview at HubSpot, take advantage of this resource. The recruiter really is rooting for you to succeed and is a valuable ally to have in your corner! The day of the panel interview, I knew I was prepared, but I was still quite nervous. It had been a while since I’d interviewed for a new job, and the 3-hour time frame seemed daunting. But, just like my interview with the hiring manager, I was immediately put at ease by the first person I met. That really set the tone for the rest of the interviews where I felt like the time flew by. I actually felt like we were running out of time in each session! Needless to say, I came away from a 3-hour interview session even more energized and pumped than when I first started. The experience I’ve had with HubSpot will remain as the standard by which all other recruiting processes I may or may not be a part of in the future will be measured. Every person I’ve had the pleasure to meet at HubSpot truly exhibited the characteristics of being humble, empathetic, adaptable, remarkable, and transparent in their own unique ways. The Culture Code isn’t a bunch of empty words, but something I was able to see and experience throughout this process.

Straightforward, there was an initial screener with HR recruiter, followed by zoom call with the hiring manager. This was followed by a case-exercise that candidates had a few days to complete.
