I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Docusign in Mar 2022
Interview
The recruiter reached out to me multiple times, so I had an initial call with her. She then suggested I have an interview with the hiring manager. The interview was for 30 minutes. Very casual and went fine. I did not hear from them at all... that could be because I said during the interview that I was not actively looking to leave...

Question 1
Why are you looking to leave the current position?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Docusign (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2022
Interview
I was initially contacted by Mikhal Wyatt via LinkedIn; we hopped on a quick call to discuss the role and ensure it was a good fit before moving forward. Mikhal was incredibly responsive, friendly, informative & insightful.
Given the stereotypical issues with recruiters - i.e. not following up in a timely manner, lacking interest in you as a person, poor listening skills, and straight up ghosting candidates - Mikhal deserves special recognition for representing DocuSign in the best way possible. I left every conversation with Mikhal feeling heard, confident, and most importantly excited about the role, culture, growth and opportunities DocuSign has to offer. From checking in on me after each step in the process and answering questions thoughtfully & thoroughly to advocating for the best offer possible, Mikhal went above and beyond to ensure I had a positive experience.
After that initial screening, there was a 30m scheduled call with an RVP, another 30-45m call with two RVPs, and a final presentation with RVPs and A/VPs. The interviews were relatively conversational aside from the typical q's discussed for sales roles. Everyone brought really great energy and interest into those conversations - I was truly eager to work with every person I interviewed with and even contacted AEs via LinkedIn to chat about their individual experiences too! They all took time out of their busy days to chat with me (with no genuine incentive to do so, unlike interviewers) and spoke very highly of DocuSign.
All in all, it was a great interview experience!

Question 1
- Why Docusign?
- Tell me about your sales experience, ability to meet quotas & deadlines, etc.
Applied on DocuSign website and got contacted by recruiter after a month, had interview scheduled directly with Hiring Manager. On the job description, it says saas selling experience as preferred qualification but not basic. However, when I ask the Hiring Manager what makes a successful candidate, he said saas selling experience is very important for this role and I am probably not the right fit. I felt a little bit disappointed after the interview as I have 0 experience in selling software and was simply trying to explore another untouched industry. The fact that I have 0 experience is well listed on my resume.
It wasn't a good use of my time as well as the Hiring Manager's. I prepped a lot as I understand it would be a difficult interview for me as an 'outsider'.
If it is something that important then it should not be listed as 'preferred'. I would encourage candidate to double check with recruiter if saas selling experience is a 'must have' for the role they apply for if they are inexperience in this field.
