I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capital One (Vienna, VA)
Interview
I had a phone screen with HR, then hiring managers, then was brought in for a in-person interview. The in-person interview is a full 8 hrs, consisting of different types of interviews: behavioral, case study, and design challenge. I was put in a room for day which was in a very high traffic area and the room was very warm. One of the people who was supposed to interview me was out that day, so instead of pulling someone else to replace them, they let me sit in the room by myself for over an hour. Additionally, they mentioned that I may have to come back a different day to do that interview. I felt this was a little unreasonable because the require you to be there for an entire day to interview already, which means taking additional time off from your current job.
Most everyone I interviewed with was very nice and made me feel comfortable. The last two people, just made me feel uncomfortable and the entire interaction was awkward. I've had good and bad interviews, this wasn't bad but the last two employees probably need a little training on how to interact with interviewees. The interview itself was hard, especially if you've never done this type of interview before and an 8 hr interview is a long day, but it was a great learning experience.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in May 2017
Interview
The interview process was multiple step. First I had a phone screen with recruiter. I then had an informal phone chat with hiring manager. About 2 weeks later, I had an onsite interview that had 1 business case, 1 product case, 1 design challenge, and 2 job fit/behavioral interviews.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Business Case: What is the breakeven percentage for the depositing mobile payments?
Product Case: What are some factors in deciding to have a discount savings feature in a digital deals program? Here are some quantities, what is the fastest return of investment for these distribution channels? How would you design a mobile app for this? Can you tell me issues with this given app design?
Design challenge: Choose a topic that you prepared before hand. I choose "How do people use air travel" and choose 1-3 problem areas inside of that. I presented a short 10 deck of the problems. With 1 other product manager, we ideated on solutions and then choose the best one after thinking about the tradeoffs. We created a journey map of the UX flow afterwards.
Job Fit interviews: Straight forward behavioral interviews about "why do you want to work at Capital One", "tell me about a time you failed", "what are your greatest achievements", etc.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
1. The first step was a phone call with a recruiter. I got this call by submitting my resume via Linkedin. It was a light conversation, very basic topics addressed like, "why are you applying", "why Capital One", and, "why are you leaving your current position".
2. Phone call with manager. This was much more tactical; see if you have the necessary PM skills.
3. On-site with 6 interviews. Long day.
4. Dinner with manager. Behavioral.
5. Offer extended
