I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
1. The first step was a phone call with a recruiter. I got this call by submitting my resume via Linkedin. It was a light conversation, very basic topics addressed like, "why are you applying", "why Capital One", and, "why are you leaving your current position".
2. Phone call with manager. This was much more tactical; see if you have the necessary PM skills.
3. On-site with 6 interviews. Long day.
4. Dinner with manager. Behavioral.
5. Offer extended

Question 1
They had 2 case questions and a design challenge as part of the 6 interviews. The design challenge was a take home homework assignment.
Interview process started with an online Assessmsent first, HR Screening , then mini case study. Case study involved data review, giving feedback on how results could be improved. You will get asked technical questions (how would you build a certain application so have UI and Design questions practiced.
Frist round included a virtual culture assessment. Online scenarios and options of what to chose so that they can see the types of decisions you make, not necessarily how you make these decisions.
The interview process was smooth overall. It started with a computer screening, followed by a 30-minute recruiter call focused on my experience and fit with Capital One. Then I had a one-hour “money case” discussing a Capital One product from different angles. I’ve now moved to the PowerDay round, which includes two product cases, one product skills round, and one product discovery round.
