I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Capital One in Nov 2024
Interview
I was contacted by recruiter on LinkedIn. Interview process was similar to other reviews, CodeSignal online assessment followed by Power Day. Medium LeetCode style questions on CodeSignal, optimized code is important since I couldn't pass some tests for last question due to time limits but moved onto final stage anyways. Power Day was mostly good, one coding, one system design, one behavioral and one technical case round. Power Day took 3-4 weeks to schedule for some reason. All 4 rounds were average in difficulty, except person doing case interview joined 7-8mins late and didn't even know my name. The questions asked were also quite unorganized, I spent most of the interview trying to figure out what he was trying to get to, as he didn't like my open ended question answers and were looking for a specific answer all the time. Asked like expecting a conversation, but expected a specific answer and I felt like he was very dissatisfied with my answers constantly.

I had applied to a lead software engineer position in Delaware. Got an initial call with the recruiter. The recruiter proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions that were clearly answered on my resume if she had read it. Once we got through that, she asked me if I was in commuting distance of New York. I explained that the role I applied to was in Delaware and even showed her. She told me that she would look into whether I could do this role in Wilmington and get back to me in 15 mins. This is the longest 15 mins I've ever experienced because we're going on a week now... For a company that big, I would think they'd really have it together with recruiting.
