Promising start, poor conclusion.
Communications were timely and precise during the interview process. A telephone interview was held with a senior consultant and then a TSE (talent selection event) was held shortly thereafter.
At the TSE, a presentation was given from a director in Operations Transformation and then the group was split into individual 121 interviews. My interview was with a senior consultant in the business area I applied for.
Following the 121 interview, a mock 'dragon's den' style group assessment was held, whereby the team had to present a business case to two senior managers. This was made deliberately difficult, as the senior manager's brief (I assume) is to challenge the team so that they can observe how the individuals perform 'under pressure'. Given the time allowed for the task, it is quite hard to give a comprehensive presentation- but I do suppose that this is the purpose of this stage.
Following the group assessment, lunch was held with the recruitment team. Senior consultants were supposed to be present at this stage, but for some reason- none attended. A short tour of the office then followed.
We were informed that we would hear back within 4 days. For me, this was actually 3 weeks- following 2 chase emails and calls that were largely ignored. The feedback took the form of an email that basically says 'as you were unsuccessful, please fill out this surveymonkey form to tell us how we can improve'. Form filled out, I am sure you can learn from this experience!
