I was referred to Capgemini Invent by someone internal, which I thought would at least mean a smoother process. It did not.
My referee submitted my application, but I was then asked to resubmit it myself. Fine, confusing, but I moved on. Then I was receiving a follow-up email asking for information I had already provided in my CV and cover letter, including my salary expectations. Did anyone actually read what I sent?
A month passed before my first interview. Then silence for 3 weeks. No updates, no timeline, nothing. Another month crawled by before the second interview was scheduled, and when the day came, I couldn't join because they never sent a meeting invite! I had chased them multiple times beforehand. The only thing I had was a slide deck with a phone number to call for technical issues. So I called it. Wrong number. And when I looked more closely at those slides, they were three years old.
They rescheduled. No apology. Just "it was an error." That was it.
I showed up for the rescheduled interview, got through it, and then heard absolutely nothing. No feedback, no rejection, not even a courtesy email. 5 weeks later my application had been quietly closed on the portal. That was how I found out.
3 months of my time. Multiple rounds of chasing. Outdated materials, broken contact details, and zero communication at the finish line. This is not a minor slip, it is a complete failure to treat candidates like human beings. Avoid if your time and dignity mean anything to you.
