I did several interviews via Zoom for the position. One with a LA based manager, 3 with HR representatives in China, and a final check in with the LA based manager. Between the last China-based interview and the contact for the final interview, an entire month and a half passed of zero contact. My recruiter was based in China and first said I would hear back in a week, then two weeks, then I heard nothing. Then, out of nowhere a month later, I was offered the chance to Zoom the original LA based manager who offered me the position.
Because there was no contact with me for over 4 weeks, and also because I had not done any type of formal, in-person interview, I declined the position. It seemed like the perfect job for me at the beginning, but the way I was treated throughout the process made me feel like the company did not care. I was told I would have an in-person interview, but there had not been one. I felt scared to accept a job when I had not been to the office. The company was nice enough to give me time to deliberate the decision, but by that time, I had other offers. I let this job go purely because of the hiring process.
