The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Broadcom (Richmond, BC) in Dec 2010
Interview
I was interviewed by three people.
They first went through my resume and asked about my projects, and asked me to explain the technical merits of each project. They also "tested" my programming knowledge whilst asking about my projects.
They then asked the typical technical programming questions, including pointer manipulations, bit manipulations etc. Hardware questions were also asked.
Overall positive experience and the interviewers were extremely positive and friendly.

Interview
The HR representative of the position called me about two days later I applied. He asked me about my availability and that was about it. He didn't really ask me anything about my resume. He scheduled me an interview at the end of the phone call.
The interview consisted of six 1:1 interviews. I interviewed with the director, managers, some employees that I would be working closely with and an intern. They were all one after the other, each about 15 min. They all pretty much asked me the same thing, about my resume, cover letter and some technical questions. Some seemed really busy and didn't ask that many questions. All of the interviewers are really nice and they didn't give me that "arrogant" attitude that some interviewers have when you get a technical question wrong. Overall a pleasant interview experience.
They called me about a week and a half to two weeks later. After I accepted the offer they ran a background check. It was just couple forms to fill out.
