I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg
Interview
It was a pretty fast turn around. I had a phone interview, then an additional phone screening. Did not proceed with onsite, but it was a good experience overall. Recruiter was nice, questions were manageable and they understand your skill level so no need to BS your resume or anything like that so yeah overall really learning experience.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg
Interview
it was an hour-long interview with 2 engineers on campus. Questions were fairly simple. Started by talking about your past relevant projects and asking some details about how you solved problems you encountered. Then moved on to coding. Some straightforward string manipulation and stock buying problem.interviewers were nice and friendly and the chat was for them to get you know more about you and you can also ask them questions about what Bloomberg does.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
So this took place on campus in person. The interview happened in a room with me and one interviewer. The interviewer seemed like a nice guy. On the questions he asked, whenever I was on the wrong path, he offered to get me in the right directions. This happened in all three questions I was asked. At the end, he just asked me to ask him any questions I had.
