I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
Applied Online and scheduled an online Hackerrank technical screen. The interviewer called on time and was very nice. We talked about my resume and about an internship I had. Than he gave me a search array problem. I solved it in O(n) time which was what he was looking for. Next day, got an email to schedule an onsite Interview.
Onsite Interview: 1. first round 1-1 with a developer.(He was very nice and friendly) I was able to solve 5 problems in the first round which I think is very good. I think he was very satisfied with my answers. (I saw 2 of the problems before so that required no thinking at all)
2. second round 2-1. First Developer- a design question which he made up based off a project on my resume. Second Developer- rank run time from smallest to greatest. I got it right in one try. Than he gave me a dynamic programming question. I found a solution and thought he was satisfied with my answer.
Everything was done in pencil and paper.
Never got past round 2 and was escorted out. I don't even know why, I gave all the correct answers ><. I guess it all depends on luck whether or not the interviewers like you or not........
