I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BASF (Newark, NJ) in May 2018
Interview
They are using HireVue which can be useful to speed up the process. However this company records the whole interview process and they make you agree to use the recorded video for their own purposes. That means that your privacy is compromised. If you decline the policy the system won't let you proceed to the interview. I think the BASF team should let you know this in advance. It is better to have a regular webex video conference instead. This way they do not record you and your video is not use for other purposes other than just the interview process.
The interview itself is a regular "tell me a time when you... and how you solve it". Just be aware of the fact that your answers and recording can be used for whatever purposes the hirevue company wants even outside the interview process.
