I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Typically best practice would be to be call those who interviewed, and let them know that they've received the job!
If you're wondering, my review... Here it is... Btw, I didn't sign anything.......
It was way different with Amazon...Most of us took a day off of work to interview. We talked to 4-8 current workers in which half are across the country. So we're stuck uncomfortable in a room by ourselves waiting for someone to show up from across the country on a flatscreen tv to blindly ask us ridiculous behavioral questions, aka "tell me about a time you wiped your neighbors tears when no trick or treaters showed up at his/her house?"
"What was the outcome?"
Additionally, there were plenty other questions about how i grew up, my work style, etc.
on top of that there was also the stupidest "questionnaire" quiz I've ever taken about how to be a campaign manager.
After all was said and done. They set up a time to talk to me over the phone... Don't be fooled by this.... This may not be a job offer... They actually set up time to reject you over the phone.
I've had break ups that have gone better than my interview with Amazon.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you saved a whole African village from Zika
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (London, England) in Nov 2015
Interview
One or two telephone interviews. Then you are invited to the office for 4/5 interviews with different managers lasting one hour each. You are then offered or not offered the position.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Jun 2016
Interview
As other reviews mention, the process takes time and is divided in 3 key stages: 1) HR call, 2) Call with a team member or manager and 3) In person interviews. It is important to understand the Leadership Principles and have concrete examples of how you have applied those principles in your current and past roles. Also, don't let the idea of having a full day of interviews scare you or stress you out. Take your time to prep and the day of the interview have a nice breakfast and a long shower. Once it's time, go in relaxed and give it your best shot. If there's a match, you'll get the offer.
